A copy of an 1837 engineering drawing of St. Louis Harbor and the Mississippi River. The drawing, surveyed by Robert E. Lee, shows the proposed plan to build a dike near Bloody Island. Included are cross-section profiles of the proposed dike and sections of the river. Spanning the area from Cahoe Island to Cascarot Island, the drawing also identifies businesses, farms, buildings, and other landmarks along the river. St. Louis, Missouri is also prominently featured in this drawing with several roads being identified. Handwriting on the back reads: "PPF, 9-B, 7/14/50."
