Description

A road map of Missouri that shows roads, road conditions, bridges, ferries, county seats, state parks, national forests, State Highway Patrol radio stations, mileage figures, and other points of interest. The map includes insets of Kansas City and St. Louis and an index with population figures of cities and towns. Annotations on the map highlight the approximate miles and air distances from a proposed airfield site at Flatwoods Valley in Iron County to airfields in Rolla, Cape Girardeau, and St. Louis (Meramec, Lambert, and Parks). Other handwriting on the front reads: "38" and "Senatorial Papers of H.S. Truman-Folder: War Dept.-Air Corps-Beginning Sept. 1942." The back of the map has several photographs highlighting points of interest in Missouri.
