“Mission Accomplished” monologue as Harry S. Truman given by Floyd T. Bode to a travel club in Iowa. Mr. Bode relates his experiences worldwide of being a Harry Truman look-alike. He then presents a monologue composed of excerpts from President Truman’s memoirs and speeches. Mr. Bode was invited to visit the Truman Library in 1977 by Dr. Ben Zobrist. He recounts his visit and the people he met while touring the Library. VHS

TRUMAN LEGACY SYMPOSIUM – “TRUMAN’S CIVIL RIGHTS LEGACY” Florida Keys Community College May 14 & 15, 2004 This is a series of five discs covering the two day symposium. Viewing difficulties with all discs. DISC 1 – Opening of the symposium with introductions and comments by Professor Robert Watson. Ed Swift of Historic Tours of America introduced various government officials. Also attending were Ken Hechler, Clifton Truman Daniel, Scott Roley from the Truman Library and Bob Wolz. 25 minutes DISC 2 – Dr. Robert Watson comments and introductions. Clifton Truman Daniel comments. 20 minutes. Gov. Michael Dukakis closing remarks not viewable. DISC 3 – Speaker Congresswoman Carrie Meek. 15 minutes. Speech not complete. Congressman John Lewis’s speech not viewable. DISC 4 – Consists of three panel discussions. Panelists are: Dr. John Davis, Howard University; Dr. Ray Geselbracht, Truman Presidential Library; Dr. Tom Lansford, University of Southern Mississippi; Dr. Raymond Frey, Centenary College. Viewing difficulties. DISC 5 – Roundtable discussion with Ken Hechler, Rex Scouten, Prof. Robert Ferrell, and Scott Roley from the Truman Presidential Library. 15 minutes – ends in mid-discussion. 5 DVDs (Mini-dv of disc 5; found in Research Room).

INTERVIEW WITH ALGER HISS – 1981 – KCOS TV, El Paso, Texas Interview by Dr. Kenton Clymer. Interview is discussion of Mr. Hiss’ trials and and conviction of spying for the Russian government. Mr. Hiss was accused by Whitaker Chambers during hearing of the House UnAmerican Activities Committee. Mr. Hiss’ served 44 months in federal prison after his conviction. He was currently, at the time of the interview, seeking vindication using material secured under the Freedom of Information Act. VHS – Black and White

BIOGRAPHY OF DAVID BEN-GURION – 1963 - narrated by Mike Wallace. Covers the years 1886 through 1957. Ben-Gurion was born in Poland in 1886 and named David Gruen. He was given the honorary name of Ben-Gurion because of his work with the Zionist Movement. During WWI, Ben-Gurion was exiled to New York because of his Zionist activities, and married while there. This video consists of original film footage of Ben-Gurion during his years in Palestine and then as the first Prime Minister of the State of Israel. There is brief footage of a meeting with President Truman. The biography ends in 1957 when Ben-Gurion retired from public life. Produced by CBS. ¾ inch tape – black and white

Still photos of Paul Powell (1902-1970) with President Truman shown while various dignitaries speak, as the casket of Mr. Powell was placed in the Illinois State Capitol Building on October 13, 1960. Paul Powell served as Illinois Secretary of State and was active in Democratic politics throughout his career. DVD

CONNIE SCHULTZ - “AND HIS LOVELY WIFE” February 13, 2008 Connie Schultz, a biweekly columnist for the Cleveland Plain Dealer/Creators Syndicate and wife of Ohio’s junior senator, Sherrod Brown, spoke at an event honoring the 123rd birthday of First Lady Bess Truman.
