A print of a hand-drawn map that shows the proposed and completed river engineering of the Missouri River by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This map was prepared for Harry S. Truman, Chairman of the U.S. Senate Special Committee Investigating the National Defense Program, for the purposes of investigating these projects in the Greater Kansas City area. An inset showing river systems in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas is included. Handwriting on the back reads: "Removed from Senatorial papers (Missouri River), letter, 8-1-41, from Col. D. McCoan, Jr. to E.B.

Also included are tables describing the type and number of tourist accommodations, a description of large caves, the locations of scenic and recreational areas, and a description of the maximum flow of large springs. Red pencil markings outline the proposed boundaries of Fort Leonard Wood. The back of this piece contains unrelated articles.
