World History

Students will research through the use of primary source documents the lives of different segments of societies in WWI, and create a fictional narrative based on this study, to illustrate their understanding of the material.

Students will identify several underlying themes of war inspired music and analyze the effect the author is trying to create.

The student will complete a project creating a PhotoStory describing an event of the Berlin Airlift. They may concentrate on the personalities of the airlift, the German people, the Soviet response to the post-war world, etc.

Role playing activity in which students will portray historical figures who were influential in the U.S. recognition of the State of Israel.

Students will analyze primary sources, participate in class discussion, and complete an individual writing assignment to understand the human impact of the Berlin Airlift.

Students will read through the Bill of Rghts and put into their own words what those rights mean today. They will then prioritize those rights as they apply to students.

Students will be able to understand the purposes and outcomes of the Berlin Airlift, the Berlin blockade as a response to the growing Cold War and as the first battle of the Cold War.

Students will gain experiences in decision-making processes, analyzing primary source documents, technological research skills, and gain an understanding of President Truman's role in Civil Rights in America.

After viewing the PowerPoint titled Israel and the American Cyrus which deals with the influences on President Truman's decision to recognize Israel and the birth of Israel as a nation, students will write to prompts.

Students will read a brief passage from the text concerning the Berlin Airlift. Students will watch excerpts from documentaries on the airlift and on Gail Halvorsen. After viewing the dvd/videos, the class will discuss and complete a study guide.
