The YMCA Tower in Jerusalem

This is a commercial photograph of the YMCA Tower in the new city of Jerusalem. The tower is part of a complex dedicated in 1933 and built through donations raised by Archibald Clinton Harte. The complex was designed by Arthur Loomis Harmon. E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. wrote on the back of the photograph: 'This is across the street form my hotel." The Interior of the Grotto of the Lady Mary also Known as the Milk Grotto

This is a commercial photograph of the interior of the Milk Grotto (officially known as Magharet Sitti Mariam or the Grotto of the Lady Mary) in Bethlehem. Tradition has it that the Holy Family sought refugee in this grotto during the Slaughter of the Innocents. It is said that Mary was nursing Jesus and a drop of milk fell on the floor turning it white. Part of a group of photographs originally sent by E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. to his mother.
