Description
President Harry S. Truman as he addressed the Joint Session of the Special Session of the 80th Congress. This is the session that he stated he would call during his speech at the Democratic National Convention. Seated behind President Truman are Senator Arthur H. Vandenberg (Republican-Michigan), President Pro Tempore of the Senate (left), and Representative Joseph W. Martin (Republican-Massachusetts), Speaker of the House (right).
