These lillies grown at Boltsville where method of propagation was developed, as there was a great shortage of this variety during the war - many of them originally came from Japan)
The President received a delegation representing the 82nd Airborne Division Association, in connection with national memorial campaign they are sponsoring to honor the 800 dead in Nymegen, Holland. The Memorial takes the practical form of rebuilding the Catholic University of Nymegen, Holland, destroyed by the retreating Nazis. Arrived New York City. Motored to the Reviewing Stand at 65th and Fifth Avenue where he reviewed the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The President attended and addressed the Annual Banquet of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, at the Hotel Astor.

General Omar Bradley, Chief of Staff, U.S.A. Commander Harold M. Gutekunst (The City of Moberly, Missouri has under con- sideration a project to do honor to their native son, General Bradley, and including in this project a trophy room in the public library of the city all decorations and war memorials which have been awarded General Bradley during his career. In order to make this trophy room a community affair there have been issued a series of stamps called "Bradley Trophy Room" stamps, which will be sold to the general public, for purpose of suitably equipping this room to house the trophies. It is desire of that community that the President receive the first stamps. Commander Gutekunst is a Moberly man, stationed here in Washington, and they have asked that he be allowed to deliver the stamps to the President in General Bradley's presence. This was all brought to the President's attention by C. M. Hulen of Moberly, Missouri.)

(The President left Constitution Hall and motored to Statler Hotel, where he "dropped in" on a War Savings Bond Drive Dinner. He then returned to Constitution Hall where he joined Mrs. Truman and Miss Truman for the remainder of the concert.)

Ramaswami Aiyer is one of the most influential political Indian nationals, although not now a member of the Government. Has been Judge of the Madras High Court, representative to the Assembly of the League of Nations, etc. On telephone Mr. Woodward said he thought the President should know that Sir Ramaswami comes from a State rich in important minerals, and the Department felt it would be most advantageous for the President to receive him.)
