Mr. Bert Stolpe, Promotion Manager for the Register and Tribune Company, and Chairman of the Iowa Centennial Committee (Jake More, Iowa Democratic State Chairman, wrote Mr. Connelly that Mr. Stolpe wanted to extend to the President invitation to come to Iowa to participate in the Centennial festivities on June 27th. Mr. Stolpe came alone although Senator Hickenlooper and Congressman Paul Cunningham had originally intended to accompany him.)
