H.R.H. Sardar Shah Mahmud Khan, the Prime Minister of Afghanistan (Is in United States of an unofficial visit to see his son, who is about to have surgical treatment and has, until recently, been a student at Harvard. The Prime Minister, who is a brother of the former King of Afghanistan and an uncle of the present King, has asked for this appointment, thru the State Department.)

The President, accompanied by Mrs. Truman, departed the White House in the convertible Cadillac, with the President driving, and motored to "Shangri-La" in the Catoctin Mountains, arriving at the main lodge at 4:40 p.m.
The President, accompanied by Mrs. Truman, attended a movie, "Carnegie Hall," in the large Navy mess hall, after which they returned to their lodge and retired for the evening.
At Shangri-La
The President, accompanied by Lieutenant Commander William Rigdon, departed the main lodge for his usual morning walk, returning to the lodge at 10.30 a.m. after having walked a mile and a half.
The President, accompanied by Mrs. Truman, again departed the main lodge and walked to the swimming pool, where the President took his morning dip and sunned for a while, returning to the main lodge at 12.00 noon.
The President, accompanied by Mrs. Truman, attended the movie, "I Wonder Who's Kissing Her Now," at the large Navy mess hall, after which they returned to the main lodge and retired for the evening.
At Shangri-La
Because of inclement weather and overcast skies, the President engaged in no activities this day, except that at 7.45 p.m. the President, accompanied by Mrs. Truman, attended the movie, "Moss Rose", at the large Navy mess hall, after which they returned to the main lodge and retired for the evening.
