The President spoke at 10:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Washington, DC. His opening words referred to Wash. B. Williams who served as chairman of the dinner, Vice President Alben W. Barkley, Sam Rayburn, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Frank E. McKinney, chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
