President Truman's Commencement Address at the University of Missouri

President Harry S. Truman's commencement address at the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO. The President spoke at 10:05 a.m. at the university stadium. His opening words "Mr. President" referred to Dr. Frederick A. Middlebush, president of the University of Missouri. Due to a rainstorm the ceremonies were shortened and the honorary degree recipients, including the President, were given their degrees at Jesse Hall, located on the campus of the university. Chapman Receives Honorary Degree

Bunche, Pandit, and Chapman received honorary Doctors of Law degrees during the commencement ceremony.
