Description

The U. S. and eight Atlantic Pact allies signed formal mutual aid agreements providing for rush delivery of $1,000,000,000 of American arms to free Western Europe with the next five months. Here, Norwegian Ambassador Wilhelm Munthe De Morgenstierne, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps (left), and Secretary of State Dean Acheson sign the pact.
