President Harry S. Truman pats Fala, pet dog of the late President Franklin D. Roosevelt, on the porch of the Roosevelt ancestral home at Hyde Park, New York. The estate was turned over to the government as a national shrine on the first anniversary of the death of President Roosevelt. Donor: New York Herald Tribune
