Description
Loren Raines (left) and John Martino (right, behind Seal) remove the Presidential Seal while Dick Corliss (in coat) and photographers from the Kansas City Star document the event. The seal was removed so that the mural by Thomas Hart Benton, "Independence and the Opening of the West" could be painted on the wall.
