Description
This is a photograph showing worshipers on the Via Dolorosa. E. Clifton Daniel Jr. wrote: "This scene . . . was taken on Easter Sunday. In the foreground are a Palestine Arab and two Arab policemen and in the background is the tower of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which is supposed to stand on the site of Christ's tomb. The Church was filled all day with priests and pilgrims making processions around the Holy Sepulchre." This photograph is numbered "6". It is part of a series of ten photographs that record Daniel's experience in Jerusalem and is part of a group of photographs originally sent by E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. to his parents from Jerusalem.
