Description
This is a commercial photograph of the Western Wall on the Temple Mount in the Old City in Jerusalem. A note written by E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. on the back of the photograph reads: "This is where the orthodox Jews go to weep, wail and pray and lament. The[sic] sometimes beat their heads against the stones and leave prayers written on slips of paper in the cracks of the walls. I have seen them." Part of a group of photographs originally sent by E. Clifton Daniel, Jr. to his mother.
