Description

(Left to right): Lieutenant General Sir Charles Keightley, British Army Commander; William H. Draper, Jr., American Undersecretary of Army; General Lucius Clay, the head of the OMGUS, the Office of Military Government, United States; and Lieutenant General  A.C. Wedemeyer, Chief of Planning and Operations, U. S. Army, walk around the American headquarters in Berlin on June 29, 1948, pondering their moves to counter Russian steps that have frozen Berlin from the West. The Soviet blockade of Berlin has been relieved somewhat by American transports that fly in food, but the Russians have refused to sit on the Berlin Kommandatura, thus completing the breakup of four-power control in the city. From: Persing Touseley, Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
