Description

An American map titled "Newsmap, Monday, November 1, 1943." The map of the Russian front shows railways, rivers, marshes, political boundaries, a battle line from Kiev to Novorossiysk, and the positions of Soviet "drives." The map, of New Guinea, New Britain, and adjacent islands, shows airfields, a line denoting Japanese controlled areas, and the distance from Rabaul, New Britain to Lae, New Guinea, Trobriand Island, and Arundel Island. Printed text and photographs reveal news on multiple fronts.
