Quiros, Charge d'Affaires (This requested thru Mr. Woodward; Dr. Cereijo is most important member of Argentine Cabinet in economic matters by reason of his being President of Argentine National Economic Economic Council. Mr. Woodward further stated that up to short time ago he was not friendly toward U.S. and was regarded to be obstacle in the attainment of number of our objectives. Since his arrival this country short time ago he has been very cooperative and has authorized actions long desired by us in our Argentine relations. State Department believes his visit to this country may have beneficial results to U.S.-Argentine relations)

Mr. William T. Evjue, Editor and Publisher, the Capitol Times, Madison, Wisconsin (Victor Harding at Capitol talked to Mr. Connelly about this, stating that Mr. Evjue introduced the President at a meeting in Madison, Wis., and that his newspaper supported the President enthusiastically during 1948 campaign. Capital Times has circulation of over 40,000 and is largest paper in Wisconsin outside of Milwaukee. Mr. Evjue was close friend and supporter of the elder Senator LaFollette. Mr. Connelly, therefore, wrote Mr. Evjue that the President would enjoy talking to him when he could come to Washington.)
