Tomb of Unknown Soldier

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. The tomb erected in 1931, holds the body of an unidentified soldier who gave his life in World War I. It is cut from a single rectangular block of marble, 16 feet in length, 9 feet in width, and 11 feet in height. On the rear panel is inscribed "Here rests in honored glory an American Soldier known but to God."
