While the Viking 1 continues its analysis of the Martian surface, its companion ship, the Viking Orbiter, continues to obtain more startling pictures of the planet. This montage of four photos shows one of the volcanoes in the Tharsis region near the equator.
The satellite Nimbus II as it tracks Hurricane Beulah across the Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and into Texas for two weeks in mid-September 1967. This series of photographs is representative of pictures received by Apt. Stations located in the U.S., Mexico and Caribbean area as Nimbus II orbited over these regions daily.
