Photo of the Federal Office Building at 911 Walnut, Kansas City, Missouri. The building, rising 33 stories above the corner of 9th and Walnut Streets, is occupied by several of the major agencies. Formerly a bank building, the structure was purchased by the Government.

The Pan American Union Building was completed in 1910 and was a gift of the late Andrew Carnegie.

The Library of Congress, located on Capitol Hill, adjacent to the Supreme Court building. Created originally to provide specialized reference service for the members of Congress, the institution, because of its vast resources, has developed into the National Library of the United States.

The National Capitol. Situated on the crest of a hill where the North-South and East-West axes of the city cross. It is the seat of Congress of the United States. The Senate occupies the North wing and the House of Representatives occupies the South wing.

Originally designed as the headquarters for the Department of the Army, the building has been occupied by the United States Department of State since 1947.
