Presidential autographs

On a Whistlestop tour in his campaign for the election of Gov. Adlai Stevenson to the presidency, President Harry S. Truman (left) arrives in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, to speak at the local high school. The Secret Service agent accompanying him is unidentified. The photo is signed by "Harry S. Truman." Former President Harry S. Truman observes a photo of Winston Churchill in an exhibition case at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. It is autographed by Harry S. Truman as follows: "Fulton, Mo, April 12, 1954, Harry S. Truman." This photo was taken by a student at the college while Truman was in the Churchill Room (Same as 59-682 except for autograph).

Bess Truman (front row, third from the left) and Margaret Truman (far left) are part of a group gathered for the Truman-Evans dinner held at the Truman Library. Tom Evans was a Kansas City businessman and friend of Harry S. Truman. The photograph is signed: "To Mr. and Mrs. Loeb H. Granoff From Harry S. & Bess W. Truman, 10-31-1959".
