Political prisoners

Burned and half-burned bodies of political prisoners of the Nazis lie heaped about the entrance to a barn at Gardelegen, Germany, where they met their death at the hands of S. S. troops, who set the barn afire. From: album entitled "Nazi War Atrocities."

Bodies of German political prisoners who were shot by Nazis and thrown into a common grave. Bodies were reburied at Ohligs in a public place as a permanent reminder to the German people of the atrocities. The burial was supervised by the Graves Registration section of the 94th Division.
