Democrats of America Pay Tribute to Harry and Bess Truman

Washington, D.C. View of crowded ballroom here tonight as some 3,000 Democrats filled this room and banquet room on the floor below to hear former President Harry S. Truman, center, give the Republican party and the Eisenhower administration a tongue-lashing. The dinner, at $100-a-plate, was tendered by the Democrats of America as a tribute to the former President and Mrs. Bess Truman. It also kicked off the 1958 congressional election campaign.
