Political Cartoon, "St. Louis Visitor"

This is a photograph of a political cartoon by Daniel Fitzpatrick, originally published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on October 11, 1950. The cartoon depicts the presidential airplane "The Independence" on the tarmac of an airport. Attached to its side is a sign reading "Hennings for Senator." Below the plane is the text, "St. Louis Visitor." The Hennings referred to is Congressman (later Senator) Thomas C. Hennings, Jr.

This is a photograph of a political cartoon, "Now the Man's Acquired a Horse," by Bruce Russell of the Los Angeles Times, originally published in 1948. In the upper right corner, it depicts a copy of a 1946 cartoon by Russell, showing President Harry S. Truman sitting on a saddle, with an invisible horse under the saddle. The main part of the drawing shows President Truman confidently sitting in a saddle, riding a donkey labeled "Dem. Congress."

This is a photograph of a political cartoon by Jim Berryman for the Washington Evening Star. President Harry S. Truman is standing inside a grandstand and grabs hold of a figure labeled "Senate Opposition." Clark Griffith runs toward the President, holding a baseball labeled "'49 Major League Opening Pitch," saying "No, no... Mr. President THIS is what you're supposed to throw out!"
