Civilian engineers working on the base of a tower from which an atom bomb was exploded during the experimental tests at Eniwetok in the spring of 1948.
Cement instrument testing cubes are build near the detonation point of an atom bomb. These cubes or "igloos" will hold recording instruments. The man is unidentified.
Prior to the experimental tests at Eniwetok, palm trees were removed from some of the islands within the atoll by bulldozers and crane. The palm trees obstructed the view from scientific outposts.
