President Harry S. Truman's remarks on accepting for the American people a gift of ten original Audubon paintings, White House Rose Garden. Mr. E.J. Hallstrom, Australian businessman and philanthropist, presented to the President ten Audubon paintings, a gift to the U.S. Government, to be exhibited alternately by the National Art Gallery, the National Audubon Society, and the American Museum of Natural History. Director of the National Gallery of Art, David E. Finley, also extended his appreciation. Text of remarks not found in Public Papers.
