Exterior view which appears to be a garden or memorial along a stream. This is an unidentified view included in the W. Averell Harriman photographs taken during his 1959 Russian trip. Charles W. Thayer accompanied W. Averell Harriman as a guide and confidant on the trip which took place May 12 - June 26, 1959. Harriman went as a special foreign correspondent for the North American Newspaper Alliance (NANA). Trip visits included Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Yalta, etc., as well as areas in Siberia and the Urals, and ended with a meeting with Nikita Khrushchev. Original negative.

This appears to be the office of John Snyder of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. Photos of Presidents Truman, Ford and Carter are shown hanging on the wall. (The Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation is a living memorial to President Truman, established by Congress).
