Exterior view which includes W. Averell Harriman in overcoat seventh from the left. May have been taken on May 18 in the afternoon when Harriman visited the Lyukovo prison colony about 40 miles north of Moscow. Exact location not given nor identification of others in view. Charles W. Thayer accompanied W. Averell Harriman as a guide and confidant on the trip which took place May 12 - June 26, 1959. Harriman went as a special foreign correspondent for the North American Newspaper Alliance (NANA).
