President Truman Views Fort Jefferson

Caretaker of Fort Jefferson, Russell A. Gibbs, guides the presidential party atop Fort Jefferson National Historic Site in Dry Tortugas, Florida. The party includes: President Harry S. Truman (second from left), Admiral William Leahy, Edwin Locke, John Steelman, Press Secretary Charles G. Ross (plaid cap), newspaper correspondent Felix Belair (hand cupped to ear), and Chief C.J.
