Former President Harry S. Truman makes the dedication address at the General Ralph E. Truman Memorial Armory in Springfield, Missouri. Ralph E. Truman was the President's cousin. The Missouri State flag is shown in the foreground. This series of photos is the same as 66-4909 through 66-4919.

Breaking ground for the first manufacturing unit of an 18-million-dollar ammunition plant, two men thrust spades into a former flax field on the Lake City Arsenal site in Missouri, while civic and military leaders look on.
