Meeting of Executive Committee on Handicapped

A group of thirteen people assembled around a table and identified with the photograph as the Executive Committee of Presidential Committee on Handicapped, 1957. Robert C. Goodwin, Director of the U.S. Labor Department's Bureau of Employment Security, is seated second from the right. According to Goodwin's appointment book for 1957, he attended on March 5 a meeting of the Advanced Council on Physically Handicapped held at the White House. Also noted for May 23-24 was the annual meeting of the President's Committee on Employment of the Physically Handicapped.
