In the course of his remarks he referred to Mark Ethridge, publisher of the Louisville Times and the Louisville Courier-Journal, Erwin D. Canham, editor of the Christian Science Monitor, and Dr.

His opening words "Mr. President" referred to James Palmer, president of the Federal Bar Association. In the course of his remarks the President referred to the Chief Justice of the United States, Fred M. Vinson, and to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sam Rayburn.
