The students will have a lecture and view some political cartoons and maps during the time period of the Cuban Missile Crisis. The students will participate in the Notebook activity at the end of the lesson.

Students will examine and evaluate primary documents relating to the Cuban Missile Crisis.

The students will engage in a cooperative learning assignment on the Cuban Missile Crisis. They will work in groups to explore the presidential decision making and the US, Cuban and USSR perspectives on the 1962 Crisis.

Students will read a document of Kennedy-Khrushchev exchanges. Students will take notes, write a summary, and answer questions on a primary resource. They will also take the role of Kennedy and write a response to Khrushchev.

Individual lesson that begins with an introduction to the Korean War. Students then listen to audio clips of President Truman and answer questions to the clips while they are listening.

This lesson helps students reflect on what they can do when they encounter unfair treatment.

This lesson was designed to provide the students who learn in the visual mode a means to successfully interpret and experience the Nuremberg Trials on a unique nonstandard plane and to express their thoughts through writing.

This lesson was designed to provide the students with the exact articles found in the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the opportunity to analyze each article.

Cooperative learning through document analysis, students summarize the worldwide efforts of the Cold War, including the competition for power between the United States and the Soviet Union.

The lesson will be a traditional lecture based lesson using primary source documents from President Truman and Joseph McCarthy. I will also incorporate a documentary movie on the HUAC trials and McCarthy. My main focus will be on the Red Scare.
