Description
An interview with newsmen, called by the President harry S. Truman to read the statement that he would not be a candidate for the Senate seat which was vacant as a result of the death of Thomas C. Hennings, Jr. He talked on the republican Administration's economic policy and the huge national debt, and on the progress of the 1960 Presidential Campaign. He did discuss the attributes he would recommend for the Senatorial nominee although he did not recommend a person by name.
