Description

President Harry S. Truman's rear platform remarks, Phoenix, AR. The President spoke at 10:45 p.m. from the rear platform of his special train. His opening words referred to Governor Dan E. Garvey, Senator Ernest W. McFarland, and Representative John R. Murdock, all of Arizona. Later he referred to Carl Hayden, Senator from Arizona, Harold A. Patten, Democratic candidate for Representative from Arizona's Second District, and Julius A. Krug, Secretary of the Interior.
