Description

President Harry S. Truman's address at the Golden Jubilee Convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The President spoke at 12:30 p.m. at Dinner Key Stadium in Miami, FL. His opening words "Mr. Commander in Chief" referred to Lyall T. Beggs, the commander in chief of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The "Missouri mule" referred to by the President was a bronze statuette of a kicking mule, presented to him by the Jackson County Missouri Council of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
