Description
President Harry S. Truman's remarks to the representatives of the National Council of Churches. The President spoke at 12:20 p.m. in the Rose Garden at the White House. His opening word "Doctor" referred to Dr. Luther A. Weigle, dean emeritus of Yale Divinity School, and chairman of the Standard Bible Committee which prepared the new revised standard version of the Bible.
