Description

President Harry S. Truman's address at the dedication on the new AMVETS headquarters at 1710 Rhode Island Avenue. The President spoke at 3:30 p.m. at the new headquarters of the American Veterans of World War II in Washington, DC. In his opening words he referred to John L. Smith, national commander AMVETS, and Robert A. Lovett, Secretary of Defense. The address was broadcast nationally. In two parts.
