Description

President Harry S. Truman's address at the Syria Mosque, Pittsburgh, PA. The President spoke at 8:32 p.m. In his opening words he referred to John J. Kane, chairman of the Board of County Commissioners of Allegheny County, and Mayor David L. Lawrence of Pittsburgh, both of Pennsylvania. Later he referred to Arthur H. Vandenberg, Senator from Michigan, 1928-51, and Senator Wayne Morse of Oregon. The address was broadcast nationwide by television and radio.
