Dr. Philip C. Jessup, U. S. Ambassador-at-Large, is shown with Mrs. Jessup as he arrived in Washington after a hurried trip from a Far East survey. He hurried home to answer charges by Senator Joseph McCarthy, (R., WI) that he (Jessup) has "an affinity for Communist organizations". From: Beth Gore.
