Description
Photo of career diplomat John Paton Davies after he was fired by Secretary of State John Foster Dulles. Mr. Davies had been counselor of the U.S. Embassy in Lima, Peru. The firing was the result of a decision by a five member special security hearing board whose finding was that Davies's continued employment would go against the interests of national security.
