Description

National Housing Expeditor Wilson W. Wyatt, seated, today signed the first premium payment plan designed to achieve expanded production of scarce building materials. The plan, placed into effect as of June 1, 1946, covers the structural clay (brick) industry and was worked out in cooperation with the representatives of that industry. Use of premium payments was authorized by the Veterans Emergency Housing Act of 1946. Standing is Phillip H. Coombs, National Housing Act Director of Materials Supply Branch and Chairman of the Interagency Steering Committee on premium payments. From: Beth Gore.
