Description

President Harry S. Truman awards the Medal of Honor to 1st Lt. Edward A. Silk, Combat Infantry Officer from Johnstown, PA on the South Lawn of the White House. Silk received the award for bravery when he singlehandedly eliminated an enemy stronghold in a farmhouse in Germany. From: Beth Gore
