Sweeney; Lewis W. Clymer; and President Truman. The photograph is autographed "Kindest regards to Robert L. Sweeney from Harry S. Truman, October 1948." (Same as 2006-208, only this one is autographed). The caption on the back of the photo reads: "This picture was taken in Pres. Truman's train in his private car, the Ferdinand Magellan. This was the only group who saw him on this trip. He had spoken in Des Moines, Iowa. The arrangement for this historic occasion were made in my dining room, 2821 Highland...On this date, Mr. Truman was a 100 to 1 shot to win the election, but I knew he would win. I owe everything to President Truman, one of America's greatest Presidents. Robert L. Sweeney." From: Robert L. Sweeney, donated at the time of his oral history interview.
