President Harry S. Truman (foreground, right) speaks with an unidentified Marine (foreground, left) at the ceremony to award the Navy Department Safety Award to Captain Cecil Adell, commander of the Key West Navy Station. President Truman was on vacation in Key West, Florida. Also present are General Harry Vaughan (background, left, in military uniform) and Admiral Robert Dennison (background, right, in uniform next to President Truman). Reporters and photographers in the background are unidentified.
