Description

First Lady Bess W. Truman (center) accepts a certificate from an unidentified man during her meeting with Michael Danna of South Ozone Park, New York (left), the 1952-1953 Muscular Dystrophy Poster Boy. Danna's visit marked the official opening of the Muscular Dystrophy Appeal Campaign. Danna holds in his lap a cocker spaniel named Buttons, Jr., his gift to the Trumans.
