Description
President Harry S. Truman greets Queen Juliana of the Netherlands at Meridian Hill Park in Washington, D.C. They are at the park for a ceremonial presentation of a carillon to the people of the United States from the Netherlands. On the ground, from left to right: National Capital Parks Superintendent Edward J. Kelly, President Truman, First Lady Bess W. Truman, Queen Juliana, Secretary of the Interior Oscar Chapman (back to camera, in pinstriped suit), Prince Bernhard Leopold (wearing glasses), and Secretary of State Dean Acheson (back to camera). All others are unidentified.
